Ok, so I’ve got no idea how to spell ‘Hiiedddey-ho’*, but here’s wishing you and yours a happy and safe silly season.

Settling in is taking a bit longer than I ever thought it would - we’ve still got a stack of boxes we haven’t even opened. On the other hand, we’ve been flat out doing stuff, from a (mammoth) Ikea expedition to setting up a veggie patch and compost bin.

Seems we’re not the only ones nesting around here - just after we moved in, a couple of fantails (I think) set up a nest just outside our living room window. We started to stress for the little guys, as the nest was only about 4 foot off ground level and next to a fence - easy pickings for a hungry cat. Still, all’s well that ends well, after a week or two the chicks both made tentative movements out of the nest. That’s them in the last shot above, huddled together on a low branch; so by that stage they were at least flying short distances.
