Jane and Lesley broke our fishing drought with a haul of herring caught off the rocks right on dusk at Lucky Bay in the Cape Le Grand National Park. Delicious pan-fried and served on a bed of rice with an Indo-style chili paste.

We stopped off at Sheringa, which normally has waves and a reputation for good fishing. No surf, but the fishing didn’t disappoint - we got two fish (a bream and smallish but still legal salmon), which after our spectacular lack of success counts as a bountiful harvest. And troopy got a run in the soft sand.

Three edible size fish in three months - not bad eh?   Two of them Estuary perch caught by yours truly in Sweet Pea (canoe).  Pretty nice way to fish - just dropping a handline over the edge of the canoe…
